It’s time for a change…

I have come to a point in life where I really need a change. So I am thinking that if I’m going to have a new direction in life I do it top-to-bottom. So I have started a new blog and a new shop. In the shop I will be selling some of my photos.

Hummmlan (Bummmblebee) doesn’t work outside Sweden. And my own name doesn’t work outside Sweden either… I have been traveling around quite a few places around the world and when I introduce my self they all go: huh?
They try to say my name but it sure isn’t easy…! So my new nickname is MayaLee, a combo of my daughters name and my name and a few other people that is close to me.

I have been blogging here for over 3 years and I want to thank you who have left comments and emails! Without you guys blogging hadn’t been half as fun!

I hope you will follow me to the new place - MayaLee Dreams & Memories
You are so welcome!

P.S If you leave a comment at my new blog you will have a chance to win something from my shop. You can choose whichever photo you want. Oh I so love giveaways!

I’m going away…

on vacation. I’m going to lay in the sun, feel the warm sunrays defrost my stiff joints. Slowly I will come to life again after a long cold winter. Maybe I will sip on some colorful drinks with those small umbrellas… Walk on the beach, feel the warm water against my toes. Build small castles in the sand with my little girl…

See you in a while!

I’m not a fabric bag!

I took my daughter shopping yesterday. In one of the shops I saw that they had this really pink plastic bag. I asked if I could have one. Actually I didn’t intend to participate in this weeks Pretty Pink Themed Tuesday - pretty pink SHOPPING at flickr until I saw this bag…

Salt & Pepper

This is my fathers containers for salt and pepper, they belonged to my grandparents. Is there any one out there who know who the designer is? We think it is a Swedish designer. So if you know or think you know please let us know!
Thanks!

Doll’s tableware

I have borrowed my daughters doll’s tableware… I thought the coffee cup looked so cute. And the tulip fits just in there :-) As you maybe have noticed I take a lot of photos of flowers these days… Why? Because they stand still, they don’t get bored just after a few minutes and they don’t talk back at you… ;-)

Have a nice weekend!

More flower ttv…

OK. So I’m a bit obsessed with my new old camera… I want to photograph all the time! Yesterday when I was taking pictures of these flowers the sun was shining, it is so much easier to take photos when there is enough light! Oh spring, come soon!

I just love the photos being created with this technique! Here are some photos of an Gerbera daisy and a Ranunculus.

Pink Tuesday

I have joined a group on flickr that is called Pretty Pink Themed Tuesday. Each Tuesday there is a new theme, last week it was “Tutu” and this week it is “Sin”. And of course it needs to be something pink in the picture!
And here is my contribution…

What sin? Take your pick:
Anger Lust Greed Sloth Gluttony Pride Envy

I’m in love!

I have bought an old box camera. It’s from the 50’s I think. It is an Kodak Duaflex II. I’ve discovered this amazing way to take photos, it’s called TtV, Through the Viewfinder. Through the Viewfinder photography is defined as taking a picture of any subject through the viewfinder of any camera with another camera. Here and here can you learn more about it.

These flowers have I photographed with the TtV technique. Don’t you just love how beautiful the picture turned out!?

This is how my old box camera looks like.

Shake it like a Polaroid picture!

I was going through my stuff at the outhouse (looking for the music box) where we have all the cardboard boxes we haven’t unpacked yet. And we moved to this house 14 months ago…
Anyway!
I found my old Polaroid camera! Oh my, this brings back a lot of memories! But the weird thing is that I don’t find any Polaroid photos… Where have they gone?
I got so excited that I started to look if there was a possibility to buy film to the camera. An yes, you can still get film to your Polaroid but its quite expensive it turned out. I don’t think I want to pay about 30 dollars for 10 pictures!! Or? It would be kind of cool though…

Another way to get cool pictures and not so expensive is to use an action in Photoshop that turn your pics into Polaroid’s. Here is a site where you can get the Polaroid action.

Music Box

This is my music box that I got when I was child. Can you believe how thrilled I was? When I opened it up, it was pink inside! PINK!! This was in the middle of the seventies and the colour pink was very rare… ;-)

Semla

Here in Sweden we eat something called a “semla” (cream bun). Earlier we ate it at the Fettisdagen(Fat Tuesday), (Sunday before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent). It is like "Shrove Tuesday" that they have in England and USA and many other English spoken countries. In France they call the day Mardi Gras.

Nowadays when the Swedish people don’t fast before Easter the cream bun is available soon after Christmas and until Easter. The day to eat ”semla” this year occurs on the 24th of February. But I had my ”semla” today and it was so yummy!

Grouchy, grouchier, grouchiest

Sometimes you just feel a bit grouchy. You don’t know why, you just are…
Hopefully it won't last for long…
