Illustration Friday (I spy)
My grandparents always had a bowl of candy in their living room. I couldn’t understand why they didn’t eat all the candy at once! I remember that I used to stare at that glass bowl; you were only allowed one little candy. I tried to keep it in my mouth for as long that I could. I must confess that it happened that I used to spy if the room was empty and sneak in and took a bit of candy… Always with a guilty conscience afterwards…

Pink/Purple vs Brown/Orange
My niece’s birthday is coming up and I have made this framed picture with her name on it. She is in a pink/purple period, as she was last year when she turned 8 years old. Who knows when the pink/purple period is ending? Never I hope! I like pink/purple too!
As I wrote (in swedish) in the post about a year ago I was born in the early ‘70s and the color pink didn’t exist when I was a child ;-) It was all brown, orange, green and dark colors…

Baby shoes
I was going trough my drawers and found my shoes that I wore when I was a baby. Aren’t they cute? No, I wasn’t born in the ‘50s! But they sure look very old and vintage. I’m getting so nostalgic when I look back at my childhood. That is one of the things that are so great to have a child. You get a second childhood!

Here is a poem that I found at Posy. I think I need to read this poem now and then to remember what is important in life…
If I had my child to raise all over again, I’d finger-paint more and point the finger less.
I’d do less correcting and more connecting.
I’d take my eyes of my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I’d run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging and less tugging.
I would build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d teach less about the love of power, and more about the power of love.

Paper, buttons and flowers…
Yesterday I was visiting a fair (Syfestivalen) in Stockholm. It was sewing, knitting and scrapbooking and lots of other stuff there. I only bought some scrapbooking material because I promised myself to get on with my daughter’s mini album that I started to make a few months ago. So now that I have all this new stuff I don’t have any excuse not get started…

Where Women Create
Inspiring Work Spaces of Extraordinary Women
My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and I got a bunch of books. I love books, especially with lots of pictures in them…
This book shows you the most beautiful workspaces. And it’s so interesting to read about the women who have created their studios.
I let the pictures talk for themselves.
Quote from the book:
“I walk into my studio sometimes just to take a deep breath and I feel anchored to my earth.”
