I found this old frame at my parents house, in their garage. At first I was thinking that I maybe should repaint it, but eventually I left the old golden paint on. I bought some magnetic colour and painted it on a piece of plywood. And easy peasy, you have yourself an magnetic inspiration board!

Coffee set
I can still remember the aroma from the newly percolated coffee in my grandparents kitchen. My grandpa drank his coffee from the plate with a lump of sugar between his teeth. Grandma with her apron on. The warmth from the wood stove.
But this coffee set they didn’t use in the weekdays. No, this coffee set was for birthdays and special occasions. And they were never used in the kitchen but in the living room. Memories from the past…

My favourite
... photo object is of course my daughter Maya, but she isn’t so cooperative as I would like her to be. I hope it’s just a phase she is going through. But who am I kidding? She has been it that phase nearly all her life ;-). She maybe got it from me, I don’t like to be photographed either… Most of my photos of her is quite blurry because when she sees the camera she runs.
But sometimes when she is playing and are concentrated she doesn’t discover that I have quietly sneaked away to get my camera. I click that button so fast, get a series of photos in just a few seconds and if I’m lucky I have one photo that I can use. Most of my pictures of her is when she is looking down, like this one below. Here she is playing with her beads. She haven’t discovered me yet…

Meditation
My daughter and I sometimes play with Hama beads. She have different pegboards shaped like hearts, stars, elephants and so on. One day we did this giraffe but my daughter got bored after just a few minutes. But I got hooked and sat for quite a while… I think it’s so soothing, your thoughts is just wandering and suddenly a half of an hour has passed by. Perfect for meditation.

My first shoes
I think I have got a bit obsessed with Photoshop… But it is so much fun! A couple of months ago I bought a digital system camera, and I fell in love :-) I have always been interested in photography and have taken a lot of photos with my analogue system camera and a small compact camera. But when I got my digital Canon camera it was love at first sight! The photos looks soooo much better with this one. And I have discovered Photoshop… Now I can take my photography to another level.

Sewing accessories
I have a little thing for sewing accessories… I don’t know why. But I really like them. I think it can have something to do with my grandmother. She had this small boxes with threads, buttons, thimbles and needles. I like small boxes… I like small cute things… I could just sit for hours when I was a child, sorting the buttons. Place the sewing accessories all over the kitchen table and then put them back in their small boxes. Those were the days :-)

Together!
One day I was coming down the stairs and I suddenly stopped when I saw a little elephant who I’d never seen at that spot before. We have a big elephant for decoration at the stairway at a shelf. Maya my daughter had placed her little toy elephant next to it. She thought it looked so lonely there all by it self… I smiled for myself and got a bit moved, she has such a big heart!

The day of the Tulip
The 15th of January it is the day of the Tulip here is Sweden. Between Christmas and Easter it sells almost 1 million tulips a day, and that is just in Sweden!! The tulip is our most popular cut flower. We even buy more tulips then they do in Holland if you see to per capita. And I can tell you that I am mad about tulips too, like the rest of the Swedes! So I think you maybe get to see a tulip or two in my blog a couple of times more… :-)

Ripple blanket
I’ve started to crochet a ripple blanket. First I thought I would crochet one for our bed. But then I looked at it… wasn’t the bed really big? Could I really pull this of? My self-confidence started to wobble… So I decided to go for a smaller version, a blanket for the couch. You know, the blanket you have when you are cuddling up with a cup of tea and a good book.
Pozy Gets Cozy, one of my favourite bloggers have crochet such a beautiful ripple. And don’t even get me started on her craft room…!

Fairy lights
Today we have been packing away our Christmas decorations. “Oh no!” screamed my daughter when we started to ”undress” the tree. I want it to be cozy! And she is right, much of the coziness disappears when the holidays are over. But in our daughters and our bedroom we have ”fairy lights” a little bit longer, at least until springtime when it’s going to be brighter evenings.

Old sewing machine
I have four sewing machines… Yes, it’s true! One belonged to my grandmother, its one of those old vintage ones where you had to pump the foot pedal to get it going. (A post on grandmas old one is coming later.) I also have a modern sewing machine that I don’t use because it sucks! It was cheap and the only thing you can sew on it are maybe curtains, if the fabric is really thin! And then I have my mothers sewing machine that are nearly thirty years old but still going strong. I have borrowed it, for a couple of years now… Thanks mum!
And then I have this old vintage sewing machine. I bought it just because I think it is beautiful. I use it as a flower table and for decoration. Didn’t they make the most beautiful things in the old days? I think so!

Photoshop class
I’m attending a Photoshop class on the net lead by **WoopsieDaisy**. After just a couple of lessons I look at my photos with different eyes. I didn’t know that almost every picture is modified in some way. Even the professionals are doing it. At the utmost I have just brighten up my pictures. Now I know that there are so many ways that you can improve your photos. I’m learning so much from this lessons. I have also bought a book, The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby. I highly recommend it! As it says on the back of the book: ”The Step-by-step Secrets for How to Make Your Photos Look Like the Pros”. Yes, I would sooooo like to take photos like the pros!!
Here you can see some more "before and after"-pictures from my Photoshop class.

A new year, a new calendar
I always feel a bit sad when a year is going to its end. I don’t know why. Something I do like is to buy a new calendar. But this year I didn’t find any that I liked. So I went for a classic black. I’m a bit picky when it comes to calendars, notebooks, pens and stationary… I think the pen is alright though.
Happy New Year buy the way!
